365--week 26
we are leaving tomorrow for colorado and i am so excited! we will be spending a week with my sis and her family. my cousin is getting married too so lots of family will be there as well. we're also going to spend some time in the mountains and go camping...oh my. the boys did this last year but my sister and i stayed at the condo. you might guess that i'm not too fond of camping---you're right! the boys had so much fun last year though that i felt like i missed out on a good memory with my guys. sooo...i'm gonna be brave and join them this year. i think i was in high school the last time i went camping so umm...i'll let ya know how that goes!
short and sweet today. i still have a ton of packing to do but wanted to get one more week up so i can say i'm almost caught up on my 365. (this week is from june 25-july 1st)
day 176jeremy had this whole weekend off which only happens about every 6 weeks so we took the opportunity to go visit my brother and his family in Arkansas. the boys had really been longing to see their cousins (me too), it had been since christmas which is a really long time for us. funny story...my silly brother was more excited than the kids i think, the closer we got the more frequent were his texts. my brother informed me that they were watching and waiting for us out on their back deck so when we pulled into their subdivision and could see the back of their house, the boys were going crazy in the car, jeremy started honking and i leaned my head out of the window and screamed "woo-hoo...are you ready to party?!!" the boys died laughing! when we pulled into their driveway easton says to me with all sorts of ethusiasm "mom--that was the best thing you ever done!" it was awesome:)
day 177highlight of the weekend, cooper learned to ski on beaver lake. then he never wanted to stop. proud momma!
day 178love my nieces and nephew, wished we lived closer. the boys are already asking when we can go see them again. thanks joel and amy for a wonderful weekend!
day 179 porter found a couple rocks and wanted to paint them right away. i was all for it since we haven't added any rocks to our collection in awhile.
day 180 this was my first harvest from our little garden which unfortunately isn't doing too well. i'm part of a community garden with 3 other girlfriends. none of us have ever gardened before so it's definitely been a learning experience...so far mostly of what not to do. LOL!
day 181 this was easton's last baseball game and he pitched for the first time! i couldn't believe it when i saw him walk out there to the mound. jeremy had been wanting him to try pitching all season but for whatever reason he wouldn't do it. so i was a good mom and kept my freaking out on the down low. he did great, he got 3 strike outs--7 walks in between....but he did get 3 strike outs! you should have seen the smile on his face! i'm so mad i missed it. after the inning was over i wanted to go to the dug out and tell him how proud i was of him but used my better mom judgment and decided to wait because that might embarrass him. the next thing i know, he's standing right in front of me at the bleachers and i say "hey great job! what do you need?" he's like "nothin" just standing there grinning from ear to ear so then i took the hint that it was okay for me to dote on him. proud momma again!
day 182 what can i say?! this is my crazy porter boy who loves to draw on himself any chance he gets. today is also the last day that he will be four. forever. never again. sigh.
well, i tried to be short and sweet. i did okay i guess but keeping things short is pretty hard for me! now off to tackle packing, cleaning, errands, etc..etc...
have a wonderful week!
xo xo
Hi sis! Mom told me you were working on a post today so I had to come check it out to get my "Juli time" in for the day! I can't believe we didn't talk at all today!!! What the heck? I guess since we'll be together for a week starting tomorrow, we'll make up for it. At least I got to see your blog tonight. Great job again! Love all the proud mommy moments and miss Joel and his family too!!! Glad you all had fun! See you tomorrow! Wooo Hoo!!
